Amy Westrup is an accomplished professional with a unique blend of experience in both the worlds of improv comedy and professional services marketing. With over 12 years as a player and coach at ComedySportz and 25 years in professional services marketing, Amy is a recognized leader in applying improv techniques to improve workplace dynamics, communication, and performance, particularly in the legal and corporate sectors.
 

Amy co-­created the Applied Improv Program at ComedySportz, helping professionals in industries like law, tech, and corporate environments integrate improv principles into their work. As the creator of workshops such asImprov for Attorneys, Improv for Attorney Wellness, and Improv in the Corporate Space, she has earned recognition for her innovative approach to professional development. Her workshops, approved for CLE credit in multiple states, help legal professionals improve communication, manage stress, and enhance teamwork.

With 25 years in marketing and public relations, Amy has worked with leading law firms and corporations, advising on strategic marketing and business development. She served as Executive Director of the Association of Corporate Counsel – Wisconsin (ACC-­WI) for eight years, was recognized as a Legal Unsung Hero by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2022 and received the Innovative Programming Award from ACC Global in 2021-­22. Amy also held senior marketing roles at the Milwaukee Bar Association and Weiss Berzowski Brady LLP.

 

A member of the improv troupes Voyager and Autonomy, Amy performs regularly across the Midwest and was a guest performer at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival. She has served as emcee for nonprofit and corporate events and is on the Advisory Board of the Milwaukee Comedy Festival. Amy teaches improv workshops nationwide and internationally, with clients ranging from Amazon to Northwestern Mutual.

Amy is the owner of MKW Consulting providing business development consulting to professional service providers. She also co-­‐founded Shift Worldwide, a virtual production and training company. Amy holds a B.A. in Communication/Public Relations from Saint Louis University and is a member of the Global Applied Improv Network and Legal Marketing Association.
